It possibly works out a little better in a larger group. Now RIP is not the cheapest thing in the world - it worked out quite a bit more than the tickets and hotel option. Where previously we have had arena-only tickets and stopped in hotels, this year we splashed out on RIP and had a Crew Hut in Metal Meadow. One let down was when we got there the steward there was very strict with space, she only wanted to give us space for one tent, she said "one car on tent" but after explaining we had 2 tents she gave us more space, not the space stated on the Web site but enough for us.Ģ018 was our third year in a row at Download. With the RIP ticket you get access to the guest area when the arena opens, which is a nice collection of shops and bars with benches and smaller Q's at the bar, it's worth it with the RIP ticket but I wouldn't pay £100 to upgrade as the price's are the same in both bars and stalls. Toilet and shower blocks were great they had an attendee during the day keeping them clean. We gave one of our friends a lift and she was in blue which was about 30min walk from RIP. One of the main benifits of RIP is that you can have your car/van next to your tent which made life so much easier. The second picture shows we were less then 5min from the arena entrance and RIP park farm is just another 5/10min away depending on where you parked. After being in standard last year and parked in the south car park, I have to say RIP was a totally different experience. This year decided to try RIP camping as several of our friends couldn't make it.
